Before your treatment
All clients must complete a health questionnaire before receiving Body Ballancer treatment.
At Time Out, we cannot provide treatment if you currently have an open wound.
If you are awaiting X-ray results or further assessment of an injury or condition, treatment must wait until the results have been reviewed and your treating clinician has confirmed that Body Ballancer compression treatment is suitable for you.
If you have metal pins, plates or other implanted metalwork, written clearance is required from the healthcare professional responsible for your care before treatment.
For any other ongoing medical condition or concern that may make treatment unsuitable, we require written clearance from your doctor.
Your questionnaire and any required clearance must be reviewed, and suitability confirmed, before treatment can proceed. Medical clearance does not override the equipment manufacturer’s contraindications.
Please contact us before booking if you’re unsure.
Pre-treatment questionnaire: the supplier’s current form will be added when available. Please call to arrange your suitability review.

A little more about the treatment
How it works
Body Ballancer uses a garment with air chambers that inflate and release in a controlled sequence, creating a rhythmic compression massage. At Time Out, you can choose the jacket, the trousers or a combined appointment, subject to suitability.
Understanding lymphatic drainage
Your lymphatic system helps collect excess fluid from your tissues and return it to your bloodstream. When this drainage is impaired, fluid can build up and cause swelling.
Compression is used in clinical lymphoedema care, alongside measures such as movement, skin care and specialist massage. That does not mean everyone needs lymphatic drainage treatment, or that a wellness appointment replaces medical assessment.
Benefits and evidence
Pneumatic compression can help manage swelling in selected patients when used as part of an appropriate clinical treatment plan. Whether it is suitable depends on the cause of the swelling and the person’s health.
Research into exercise recovery suggests possible improvements in perceived soreness, but findings are mixed. Faster recovery or improved sporting performance should not be promised.
Research on compression therapy generally does not automatically prove the same benefits for every Body Ballancer programme. At Time Out, we focus on clear information, individual suitability and realistic expectations.

A few useful questions
What should I wear?
Please wear lightweight, comfortable sportswear or thin clothing that covers the area being treated, such as leggings, soft sports trousers and a thin top.
Avoid belts, zips, buttons, bulky fastenings or anything that sticks out from the clothing, as these can press against your body during compression. Soft, smooth layers are best for both the jacket and trousers.
What does the compression feel like?
The garment’s air chambers inflate and release in sequence, creating a rhythmic squeezing sensation around the area being treated. Please tell us immediately if you feel any pain or discomfort.
Is Body Ballancer suitable for me?
All clients must complete a health questionnaire before treatment so we can review suitability. If you have an ongoing medical condition or health concern that may make treatment unsuitable, we require written clearance from your doctor. Treatment can only proceed once your questionnaire and any required clearance have been reviewed and suitability confirmed.
