About Melanie – Holistic Therapist
I have been a Holistic Therapist for more than 15 years and I started off in 2004 learning Colour therapy and then went on to learn crystal healing the following year, both at Strode college in Street, Somerset. This gave me a passion for learning and a very strong interest & desire to carry on adding to my skill base & to help more clients. In 2007 I went on to learn Thermal Auricular Therapy at Yeovil college (hopi ear candling) followed by Reflexology in 2008 at Bridgwater college.
After practicing Reflexology & ear candling for a while, I then added massage to my skill base in 2015.
This then enabled me to add many more massage based treatments & techniques to my repertoire over the next few years. By having lots of different techniques to be able to draw from, I tailor my treatments exactly to my clients requirements. I absolutely love what I do and it is such a privilege and an honour to be able to make a difference & enable a client to feel better after a treatment. I aim to provide the best possible treatment to my client that I am able to give.
Each treatment has a free consultation beforehand so I can assess the suitability of the treatment for each client and whether a Gp/Health care professional letter of approval is required before treatment commences.

A treatment using various different massage techniques to help stimulate the blood flow and circulation in the body. This helps to encourage the body to detoxify waste products and rebalance itself while also helping to stimulate the immune system and bring about a sense of peace, calm and wellbeing. The treatment can also help relieve tired, tense and aching muscles.
I also have a seated massage chair I can use to work on the back of clients that struggle to lie down or have problems getting on or off of a massage couch. Please bring this to my attention during the initial consultation if you would prefer to be treated on the chair.
These 2 treatments work hand in hand and I usually encorporate either one or both in to a massage treatment if needed.
Myofascial release is generally used first, without oils, to help warm the muscles up and to help any hardened and stuck fascia to become more pliable and relaxed. After the muscles are sufficiently warm, I can then start to go deeper and apply deep tissue massage techniques to help relieve and release tense muscles and any knots and adhesions. This will usually help bring more movement into restricted areas of the body.
This is a very flowing, connected and nurturing massage. It can feel like many hands are working on the body at the same time. The treatment can take you to a place of deep calm, inner bliss & peace whilst being very detoxifying at the same time. This is a perfect pamper treatment and ideal to give as a gift.
This is a seated massage that focuses on the upper back, shoulders, neck, head and scalp of the client.
It uses various massage techniques as well as working on many meridian points of the head. This is a relaxing treatment that may help with headaches and possibly alopecia.
This is a very relaxing treatment that focuses on the top of the shoulders & arms, neck, face and scalp whilst the client is lying face up on the massage couch.
The treatment uses many massage techniques as well as a body balance on the face using acupuncture and reflexology facial points.
The treatment benefits are:
Improved suppleness of the skin, especially of the facial area, whilst improving the tone of the facial muscles that can slacken over time.
It may also help with tension & stress in the jaw area.
It also helps with with the removal of dead skin cells and may help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles if received on a regular basis.
This treatment is another perfect gift and pamper opportunity.
This treatment adds heated basalt stones to a massage treatment. It is said that the heat from the hot stones penetrate 4 x deeper than regular massage! It is a very relaxing treatment indeed & if needed, I can also encorporate some massage techniques by using my hands to assist with any ironing out of knots when the muscles are sufficiently heated by the stones first.
This treatment can take you to a place of deep relaxation & aids with stress relief and a sense of well-being.
This is an energetic as well as a physical type of massage as it works with the body’s meridian system as well as the muscles.
Pull and Grasp is what Tui Na means and these techniques used along with others such as rocking, pressing, hacking & tapping etc…..help to stimulate energy and help bring about a feeling of well-being and balance to the body.
The client is fully clothed during a treatment and wearing loose / comfortable clothing is recommended.
This is a side lying massage that is suitable for pregnant clients after 12 weeks or for clients that have difficulty lying on their front or back on a massage couch.
In the case of pregnant clients, signed approval by the GP/ Midwife needs to be obtained in writing either in a letter or an email before the treatment can take place. Additionally, a detailed consultation with the massage therapist will also need to take place before the treatment commences to assure the safety of the client at all times.
This is a lower leg and foot massage that combines stretching, applying pressure to acupuncture points and masssge techniques to provide an invigorating yet relaxing treatment.
This is a way of balancing the whole body by applying pressure and using massage techniques on the feet.
Our feet map and represent the whole of our body and by working on specific reflexology points and zones on the feet, we can help facilitate the client’s body to heal and balance itself.
The treatment is very relaxing and can help with stress relief & a sense of well-being.
In this treatment, a linen tube, around 5mm in diameter, that is impregnated with herbs, beeswax and honey, is gently placed in the beginning of the ear channel. The candle is then lit which causes a chimney like affect in the ear canal which allows all the vapours of the herbs etc… to flow to all the sinus cavities of the head.
The treatment is finished with a face massage focusing on the sinus areas to enhance the benefits of the treatment. The treatment may help with ear pressure pain caused by flying if received 48hrs before and after the return flight.
